Bye everyone. I'm off to Scotland tonight for a few days with my boy's family.

I def won't be blogging but I might be on twitter if you follow me :)

My plan is to relax, eat nice food, drink and have a day to Edinburgh so I can visit MAC, Lush and have lunch in Harvey Knicks. G's said he'll buy me a new bag there so I should come back with a nice haul.

Weight Loss

A few weeks ago I was whinging alot about my weight. I'd been eating terribly for a long time, literally having fast food every day, sometimes having two big meals a day and I just got to a size I wasn't happy with anymore.
So I started my self on a really strict diet. Today was the start of my 3rd week and my weigh in day- I've lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks :D
I haven't joined a slimming club or done any exercise(which I HATE) but I haven't eaten carbs or sugar. I've limited myself to one cup of caffeine a day and I feel great! I can sleep properly at night, no longer feel tired during the day and haven't had a headache. At times it's really hard but I'm so proud of myself that I'm going to carry on until I get to my target weight.
I'll post updates to let you know my progress.

NOTD

Gah I was so good with blogging last week and this week has been awful! Sorry for not posting more, I've either been busy or too lazy! I wrote a really long post yesterday and then Blogger deleted half of it so I spent the day sulking with blogs!

So, the first of many blogs- NOTD

Barry M Pink Flamingo and Turquoise.

Please excuse the mess, I didn't have chance to clean the edges(no cotton wool buds) but I'm quite pleased with it. I think the colours look good together, and the tips are fairly even considering these are the first free hand tips I've done for about 10 years!

What rocks and what doesn't..

I'm writing this post pub so please excuse any spelling mistakes/mistypes, I'm a weee bit half cut. Boys are watching the most rubbish, unfunny film so I felt like doing a post.

What rocks

* Garnier pure active black head clearing scrub

Some people like this, some don't- I love it! It makes my face feel clean, soft and fresh, and has def started to clear up my blackheads.

*My ASOS union jack bag.

I've blogged about wanting this and buying it. I've used it all week this week and it's just so cool. Had loadsa compliments and it fits all of my essentials in it (including my huge purse!)

*Charity shops

I rediscovered my love for a good chazzer today and I'm so pleased with my buys. I'll be doing a haul when I'm back home next week(it's already written, I just need to add photos)

*BeautyUk e/s pallette.
I got this today. I'll talk about it in my haul post but I did a crazy look using it tonight and I was so impressed with the quality of the shadows

*Twitter
I've been using this ALOT recently, mainly to talk to you lovely girls. If you don't already, follow me at www.twitter.com/missdollygal.

*My followers
129! I love you all, thanks girls. Everytime I log on and have more followers, I make my BF guess how many. He then has to act really shocked and congratulate me. I make him :D

*Scotland
We're flying up to Scotland to visit G's family in a few weeks and I'm so excited. I just love it up there and his family are FANTASTIC. I'm preparing myself for good food, good shopping, plenty of drinks and lots of singstar

What sucks

*My weight.
I am sick to death of junk food. I just want healthy food now and I'm in a great frame of mind to lose weight. I'm starting the South Beach diet on Monday as it sounds great. I'm not fat but I'm def a lot bigger than I need to be. I feel a post coming on about this on Monday. Name and shame my weight in order for me to push myself into losing it.

*Fleas.
I think the cat we're looking after has fleas. I'm dead itchy all the time, it's driving me mad!

*Shopping emails

Fuck off sending me emails telling me about your latest collection- this goes to you MAC, ASOS, DP. I can't afford you!

*MAC hauls
All this hauling with the new MAC collections is making me sad. Sometimes I have to walk away from the laptop to stop myself from buying everything from MAC. :(

That's me at the moment, what's rocking your world and what are you hating?

Saturday Charity shopping

So last Saturday my boy and I went for a stroll round Southsea, having a mooch round the cool furniture shops, eating lunch and attacking the charity shops.

I popped to Superdrug first to get some new mascara. My lash stilleto was running out and to be honest, I didn't really like it. I picked up Maybelline Colossal lash, which I really like, and saw a Beauty UK pallette that I've been looking at for ages and grabbed that too. I'm a big sucker for super bright e/s, but I can't transport mine round when I'm not at home so I end up only choosing a few to bring with me, and doing the same look over and over(I like to have a diff eye each day) For just under £4 this pallette is amazing. The colours are really pigmented and blend well. Here's swatches, and a look I did for going for drinks on Saturday night. The pallette is small enough to put in my make up bag and I can create tons of looks with it. You can buy it HERE Happy :)

I went charity shopping. I've been brought up with charity shops and I adore them. I spent all of my teenage years routing through them, find brilliant bargains and then..stopped. I have loads of them in my local town but they never have anything good in them. Today was different- I picked up this Warehouse skirt for £4.99- I actually wanted this last year but felt I wouldn't wear it enough to justify getting it.
This bag for £3.50, which doesn't appear to be any brand, but I thought it was cute for winter, and I love Dior Gaucho styles.

These 3 belts for £1 each. Again, I like a woven style because you make the belt fit properly and I just loved the red one.

The final item was just so amazing- a brand new Warehouse trench coat. FOR £5.99. So beautiful, it looks really smart for work.

We went for lunch at a little cafe we like to go for Sunday breakfast at. Cheap and the staff are lovely. Quick service and yummy food. I had smoked haddock fishcakes. Yum.

We also found a brilliant opticians which sells great designer glasses(including Chanel) but also tons of designer sunglasses. I lusted after some Dior and Chanel ones for ages, whilst the boy tried some more Ray Bans on, but we convinced each other that we didn't need them. It's nice to know that there's somewhere near me that sells great sunglasses though.

On our way home we found Coco- a chocolate boutique. Teeny tiny shop, but you could see them making the chocolate. G treated me to a handmade, solid chocolate cat. It tasted amazing. MMMMM.

We had a fab day, just wandering round in the sun. Perfect day :)
If anyone is interesting in charity shopping, let me know and I'll do a tips post

Gosh Primer review

As promised in my haul post, a review of Gosh Primer, which I have used for a week now.

The product-Gosh Velvet touch foundation primer

How much was it? between £12-13, I can't remember exactly

Where can you buy it? Superdrug

What they say- " Creating a uniform, matt and unique, silky soft surface. Assists in an easy and uniform application of foundation. Can be used on top of moisturiser or clean skin."

What I say- It does make my skin feel really smooth. I haven't noticed my foundation applying an more easily but I certainly have with my under eye concealer. I use MAC Studio Finish which I find quite thick but sometimes drags on my skin(if the concealer isn't warmed a little first) but since I've been applying this primer, the concealer glides under my eyes really smoothly. I can't say that it's improved my complexion(I have too many freckles to ever really see a clear complexion) but it has improved the staying power of my foundation. I use Revlon Colourstay which is always good anyway, but using the primer has stopped my foundation rubbing off my nose. I can come home from a day at work and still look like I've just applied my foundation. It feels really silky on my skin and not at all greasy or oily.

How do I use it? It comes in a nice pump bottle, I use a pea sized amount and apply all over my face, using my fingers. I've found that a pea sized amount will do my whole face, so you don't have to use loads in one application. A little goes a long way!

Would I buy it again? I think I would. I really want to try the apricot one. I didn't look at the bottle properly and thought it was just tinted(and who needs tinted primer for your face?) but it's actually an anti wrinkle one, designed to plump lines.

Any drawbacks? It doesn't really do anything to pores or wrinkles, but I'm guessing the Apricot one will be better for that.

all in all, a great buy that I'd recommend highly.

Proud

I've already tweeted about this today but I'm so proud of myself I felt it deserved a whole post.
Today I choose clothes, had them in my hand, was queuing at the till...and then decided I didn't want them and put them back!

We had to pop to H&M on the way home(boy wanted new boxers) and my nearest H&M has had a face lift, and suddenly got some amazing clothes in it.
So I started picking out a few things, and some earrings, and make up and shower gel and then I had like £30 worth of stuff.
and I looked at it, and suddenly thought "I really don't need any of this." It was all summer stuff(which apparently doesn't exist in the UK) and I just put it all back and left. I put it back where I found it, having worked in a shop, I know how annoying it is when people just stuff things anywhere close and walked out.
I HAVE NEVER, EVER DONE THIS. EVER.
I'm really pleased, I think this spending less money and wasting money thing is finally hitting home and I feel really good about it. Yay!
XOXO
Edit- As he was really proud of me for this, the bf bought me a treat today. Actually he bought me three tops and some leggings :D I saved money AND got new things.

Monday Poll

I love these. I've been wanting to do one for weeks but I only ever remember on Tuesdays or Wednesdays!

Mood
: Sad but a little proud. I was writing another post earlier which required going on MAC and saw all the new collections on there. It makes me sad not to buy anything, but I'm really proud that I haven't.

First words out of my mouth this morning: "hellooo" to my bf, when I met up with him to go to work

What I’m looking forward to this week:Going special shopping on Saturday. We're gonna go to some new charity shops then out for a nice lunch

One thing I’d like to improve about myself: my weight. I've put on so much recently

On my makeup lust list: I can't even think of a lust list. It makes me sad

What i ate: tuna bagette, Macoys, a twirl, a pizza and a bowl of Ben and Jerrys. I don't have to wonder where all this weight has come from..

Cheeks: MAC Pink Swoon sheertone blush

Lips: Maybelline 18 hr superstay lipstick in Red passion, then Barry M 101 lip paint

Outfit: cream glads, red skirt with white bird print, white t shirt with a print of a fox round the neck

Fragrance: Coco Mademioselle

Weekly goals: Not buy any make up or new clothes. I don't count Charity shop finds

Eye make up remover- best and worst

Ever since I was given Diorshow waterproof as a gift I have been on the search for the best eye make up remover and I have finally found it. If you've not tried Diorshow waterproof, it is the hardest mascara to remove. It makes my lashes look amazing, but it also keeps them that way. Which is fantastic whilst I want them to look like that, not so fantastic waking up with your eyes stuck together. It makes my lashes so stiff, that I cannot even rub it off and when I try, it turns them into clumpy spider legs. This meant that I kept this mascara for going out, as I was ruining my lashes, trying to get it off every day- thus the search for the perfect eye make up remover began

I was recommended Simple Conditioning Eye make up remover by a friend

How much is it? around £2.99. I got a travel size one for 99p

Where can I get it? Most drug stores- Boots, Superdrug, supermarkets and it's often in cheaper drugstores like Wilkinsons and Savers. Buy it online at Boots

What they say- Simple Conditioning Eye Make-Up Remover removes all eye make up even waterproof mascara without stinging or irritating your eyes.

What I say- I was so unimpressed with this. It didn't even remove my liquid eyeliner, which I can wash off with just water. It had no fragrance which I like and definately didn't sting, but it didn't take anything off either. Rubbish!

I remembered that a MAC MA told me that really stubborn eye make up(like Liquidlast) needs an oil based remover so I went on a search for one.

I discovered-

L’Oreal De-maq Absolute Eye and Lip Make-up Remover

How much is it? £5.86 in Boots

Where can I get it? Boots, Superdrug

What they say- L’Oreal De-maq Absolute Eye and Lip Make-up Remover has a cooling, refreshing texture to remove the most stubborn traces of long lasting eye and lip cosmetics. The formula effectively removes waterproof mascara and long lasting lipsticks and rinses off instantly to leave skin soft and thoroughly cleansed.L’Oreal De-maq Absolute Eye and Lip Make-up Remover is a concentrated blue astringent designed to purify skin with a comfortable fresh sensation without leaving any sticky residue.· Blue, astringent make up remover for long lasting eye and lip cosmetics
· Cooling, refreshing texture
· Soft, supple and perfectly cleansed skin

What do I say- It was the 2nd best that I'd used. I was really hopeful as it seemed to be 1 part oil and it did a really good job of removing normal mascara and heavy e/s but I still couldn't get it to touch my Diorshow, so my search continued. It did work really well with long lasting lipsticks though!

As I adore MAC, I saw they had an eye make up remover in my CCO so I gave it a go

MAC Pro eye make up remover

Where can I get it? I'm not sure if it'll be stocked in MAC Counters but I assuming you can get it at MAC stores and you can def buy it online

How much is it?
£12.50 but i got it for around £8

What the say-A mega-effective remover that lifts off every look – from delicate to dramatic – without smudges, tears or aggression. Pro-quality, yet decidedly gentle; calms, hydrates and sooths skin with cucumber extract. Makeup can be immediately reapplied. A favourite of busy models.

What I say- it wasn't brilliant. It certainly wasn't as good as the L'oreal one and def not worth that price tag. I wear alot of eye make up and it took a lot of rubbing(something I'm not big on) to get it all off. DIDN'T TOUCH Diorshow and it stung a little bit

After all this trialing, rubbing and having no success I HAVE FOUND IT. An eye make up remover which not only gets off all my every day make up, but actually removes Diorshow without leaving me with panda eyes.

I present to you-

Boots No7 Cleanse and Care eye make up remover

How much is it? around £7.99

Where can I buy it? Boots

What they say- Wipe away all traces of eye make-up, even waterproof mascara, with this gentle, double action liquid. Pro-vitamin B5 moisturizes while cornflower and watermelon soothe your skin.Created with Care. We've created this hypo-allergenic product using only ingredients we know and trust. It has been tried and tested by guests with even the most sensitive skin, so you'll know it will be good to yours. Dermatologically tested. Fragrance free. Ophthalmologist tested. Suitable for sensitive eyes

What do I say- It's amazing. Slightly oily, no where near enough to leave an oil slick on my eyes but enough to mean I'm not having to rub my eyes. It takes no effort at to get rid of my every day make up and when I finally used it to take off Diorshow this weekend, I almost had kittens. It actually worked. No panda eyes and it left my lashes feeling soft and I hadn't ripped any out. It's slightly more expensive than other make up removers but it works so much better, I don't mind at all.
I love it :) and I can now wear my Diorshow again.
Hope that's helped anyone in the same situation
XOXO

Make up haul

I briefly lifted my spending ban on pay day yesterday and picked up a few things I'd been after during July, but then also bought things I didn't really need so I've put the ban back on! No more make up or clothes until Sept(obviously unless I run out of something essential)

I went to Boots first of all to pick up the things I really needed and to find a MAC Colour Crafted dupe(which I think I've successfully found!)

I got the CC dupe which is by Rimmel, I'll be doing a seperate post on this in a moment.

I got 2 Collection 2000 nail polishes in Dynasty and Wham which is a lovely lilac and pale grey. I've been after a lilac for a while but haven't found the perfect shade. I've got dynasty on at the moment

I didn't really like the consistency of the polish but it did dry really quickly and the end result is really nice. This is with 2 coats. I'm saving Wham until A/W/.

I've wanted a tinted moisturiser to just throw on when i don't have time to do full make up and lots of people recommended N07.

I was surprised with the amount of coverage it gives when swatched. I haven't used it on my face yet but I'll review it once I do

As soon as I banned myself from buying make up, I discovered 129 lip paint by Barry M. This is what was making me late when I popped into Boots before work. I had to have it, it's the most beautiful pinky-lavender and just looks amazing

It's much brighter in real life, the lighting in the picture is just poor.

I then took my work mate to Superdrug as she wanted a nude lipstick and I recommended Gosh Darling, which I also wanted myself. There was only one left so I let her have it, then I accidently took advantage of Gosh 3 for 2 offer. Oops!

I've wanted the light weight duo fibre face brush for ages but it's always been sold out. I think it's quite similar to MAC 187, I'll be applying my foundation with it.

I don't use primer but I wanted to try a fairly inexpensive one so I got the velvet touch foundation primer. I've tried the new L'oreal one and it did nothing for me. I'll review this once I've used it

My free item was a bit gimicky and chosen in a hurry(they were shutting and actually asking us to leave!) but i got a Light 'N Shine lip glaze in 02 which is a raspberry pink and it's actually a nice gloss. Slightly less sparkly than dazzleglasses but also slightly less thick which I prefer. The mirror and lights are just a bonus.

That's it for hauling this month. I'll review any products if you want me to, and I'll be doing a CC dupe post later on
XOXO
