Mr Orange

I’ve been wearing orange lipstick a lot more than pink lately so here’s my little collection

Swatches

Sorry for the separate shot of Sunset, I couldn’t find it so I had to borrow the pic from my Barry M swatches post.

As you can see, there’s a nice difference between each shade, Coral Pop leaning more towards peach, Toxic Tale leaning more towards red. Orange just seems to go perfectly with every outfit of mine at the moment, and it’s a nice change from pretty pinks.

who loves Orange? I love orange. I do, I do, I do-ooooooo.

MAC Pro Longwear Lipstain marker

As soon as I saw the promo images, I knew I had to have a lipstain marker from the Art Supplies collection. One of my first darker lip colours was a lipstain from the Body Shop (a berry colour I believe) and I loved it’s long lasting abilities.

Although I swatched a few, I found the colour variation really disappointing. Initially I had Stylesetter in my hand(a pretty bright baby pink) I ended up getting Full of Flare on recommendation of the MUA.

Although this looks rather dark with the flash, it’s actually a great coral red. I love the thick nib of the pen(think permanent marker size) and it gives great precision when applying.

The formula dries onto the lips, which is how it lasts so long, so it works well under other colours. I have found a perfect partnership with my beloved MAC Viva Glam Cyndi

Have you got any of the lipstains? What are your thoughts?

MAC Petals & Peacocks

After viewing swatches online I went to MAC fully prepared to buy all of the Liberty of London lipsticks but after swatching in real life, I was only drawn to one.

Petals & Peacocks is a bright pink with definitely more than a hint of purple

I’m on the lovin’ side of the LOL packaging

Very cute.

On the lips-

The formula is moisturising and long lasting and the colour doesn’t need to be built up. One swipe and you’re away.

It could be duped with Barry M’s Vibrant Pink (52) lip paint. I’ll do a swatch comparison later this month

Lipstick of the moment

Currently loving Nyx Round lipstick in Orange Soda

These lipsticks are cheap, pigmented and really moisturising. I’m in love. This is a really nice nude, with a beautiful peach tone.

MAC Pomposity

My new l/s of the moment. I won’t review it as it’s not readily available(it’s LE from CCO) but it’s safe to say, I LOVE it.

Lipstick of the moment

Today’s lipstick of the moment is

Barry M 129- Palest Lavender

P2327_30-09-09

This a beautiful pale lavender colour(as the name suggests!) and is one of Bazzas famous lip paints

P0743[01]_30-09-09 P0743_30-09-09

How much? £4.25

Where can I buy it? Online, Superdrug and some Boots.

What do they say? With over 30 shades to suit every mood and taste from softly shimmering pastels to vibrant colours

All Lip Paint's have a soft, beautiful smooth texture that is packed full of natural moistures to help them glide on and stay comfortable to wear for hours.

What do I say? I LOVE the colour. Although it does wash me out a little, it’s so unusual. The l/s itself is really moisturising, unlike some lip paints(101 anyone?) but hasn’t got much staying power. I applied it before work this morning and it was gone within 1/2 hour. But if you fancy channelling your inner GaGa, it’s a cheap way to give it a go!

Lipstick of the moment

Since getting a lot of the Maybelline Colour Sensational l/s from the event, I've decided to do a mini series reviewing them and my other favorite lipsticks. I've seen this on a few other blogs (Lilyloveslola, makeupbycaroline to name a few) and I love it.

Today I present to you Midnight Plum

This is from the Maybelline Colour Sensational range.

How much? £6.92

Where can I get it? Boots, Superdrugs etc

What do they say? Maybelline Colour Sensation Lipstick is a colour sensational. Crisp Colour from our pigment technology. Creamy feel, enriched with honey nectar. Intensify your lip colour with our captivating shades. It's the colour of right now.

What do I say? This is a perfect autumn colour. It's dark enough to make an impact but is really wearable and doesn't look too vampy. The l/s itself is really moisturising. I was quite impressed with the staying power of the l/s, after the initial coat wore off, I was left with a nice stain on my lips. There is a slight shimmer to the colour so you might want to avoid this if you're after a matt l/s but I personally feel this helps make it more wearable.
